Info For K-State Student Instrumentalists

Undergraduate and Graduate Degree Recitals

• Accept your email invitation to the Canvas Course - "Collaboration Station: Soloists-Pianists Partnerships" ASAP!

  • Deadlines are EARLY in the semester, so you'll need to check this out on Day 1!

  • Didn't get an email invitation? Email Amanda Arrington - aarring@k-state.edu - and let her know.


• Turn in your Recital Literature accompaniments at least five weeks before your recital date.

• Schedule three rehearsals with Ms. Arrington preceding your recital.

• NOTE -- Ms. Arrington is also available to collaborate with you on your Recital Literature for Selected One-Off Performances as well! Just be sure to check with her about her availability, and schedule rehearsal time preceding the performance. (Selected One-Off Performances include the following: Divisional Recitals, Student Showcase Recitals, Juries, Honors Competition, Concerto Competition)

• Once you've completed the steps in the Canvas Course, you're all set! You'll be notified of who your collaborative pianist will be, and then you'll be in communication with them directly about performances and rehearsals.

• You can check back in to the Canvas Course anytime if you've forgotten any details


 

Additional Performances (Studio Recitals, etc.)

• For performances that are NOT Degree Recitals or Selected One-Off Performances, you will need to hire and pay a Collaborative Pianist.

• If you are playing the same solo that you submitted for your Selected One-Off Performances, you are encouraged to hire the Collaborative Pianist whom you have been working with whenever possible.

• BEFORE signing up for any Additional Performance, you will need to ask your Collaborative Pianist if they are available for each specific performance. (Our Collaborative Pianists' schedules fill up QUICKLY! You'll want to inquire about their availability as early in the semester as possible.)

Info For K-State music faculty

Faculty Showcase Recitals

• If you are interested in performing a solo or a chamber work, you are warmly welcomed to sign up to perform on one of our Faculty Showcase Series concerts! Amanda Arrington is available to collaborate for these performances.

• Performance Dates - TBD!

Faculty and Guest Artist Recitals

• Amanda Arrington is available to play for a limited number of Faculty and Guest Artist Recitals each semester. All faculty are welcome to reach out to her with requests by Sept. 6th for Fall performances and Dec. 13th for Spring performances. Email - aarring@k-state.edu
 

• Faculty also have the option to fill out a Faculty Funding Request Form to hire a Collaborative Pianist for their performance.
